Week of Miss Nebraska

It’s that time again, the week of the Miss Nebraska Scholarship Pageant. Today we had the Welcoming Ceremony at the Platte River Mall. It went very well. Pea tagged along in her cute little rose dress. She was pretty content to be around all of those people! Just for the week, I’ve ordered a special shirt for her. It should be here tomorrow…

How cute is that? Yup, I’ll admit it, I’m into the whole pageant thing. I love it. I hope Pea will love it also and maybe someday she’ll be competing! I know that some people are strongly against it. If we had pageants in our area, you could bet your bottom dollar Pea would be in them. There’s a happy medium though, I most certainly wouldn’t MAKE my child participate when she wouldn’t want to. It’s just like the sports mantra…if it’s not fun, then don’t do it. We would like for Johnny to participate in more sports, baseball, soccer. He’s just not into it. Instead he races his go cart and that’s fine. He wants to play football this year, we’ll see about that. We have our first go cart race next Sunday and we have a lot to do before then. Thankfully, the new track is almost finished. That’s one biggie off of the list.









These pictures were from the first year Johnny raced. He had to look off to the side to see where he was going. He’s bigger now, I don’t think we’ll have that problem this year. We’ve got a new body for the car and it’s being painted as I type. I hope he can keep this one from getting too much damage on the first night! It seems to be the year of new for him, new body, new race suit and gloves, new track. It’s going to be a great year indeed!
