I’m trying to pack for our trip to Omaha. It’s about 4 hours away, and going always sounds like fun. It’s the packing that drives me nuts. I’m an over-packer. Because you never know if you’ll need it. It drives me nuts too! But I can’t seem to stop. I have a list of things I want to get done in Omaha…and it goes a little something like this: Find a booster seat for the kitchen table Go to Cheesecake Factory Shop for new luggage (now doesn’t that sound like fun!) Enjoy family and friends! I’m going to try to update while I’m there, but can’t promise anything. Make sure you stay tuned though, Miss Pea has some hair that... [more]
Aside from me being sick…it was an excellent day. Of course, Lucy was in on the action…right in the middle of it! The kids had so much fun tearing through their loot. Pea lost interest after she opened her Darby Doll though. The rest John opened for her. Darby was a hit! Johnny was thrilled with his Rodney Atkins concert tickets. The concert in in June during Nebraskaland Days. He’s a big fan! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. It was family-filled and you could feel the love. It’s always my favorite time of the year. I’m always sad when it’s over! Read More →

This is Straight No Chaser, and I love them! I’ve been singing my own version of this now for 2 days. Simply amazing! That and I don’t think I’ll ever hear Toto’s “Africa” without cracking a smile again! My brothers, SIL and mom played Apples to Apples…and it’s so much fun! Seriously, I was laughing so hard I was crying. It’s one of those games that is so much fun with a bunch of people…the more the merrier! John even won the game last night, although he didn’t understand why we laughed so hard at his choices. Today, Miss Pea is 16 months. I know (I know!) I’ve said it before, but where does the time go? My little... [more]

What happens at the end of that little ditty? Hmmm….let’s think…oh, that’s right…They all fall down. Remember this? Last night, Pea took the spill. Just as I was turning the corner to walk into the kitchen Pea took a face dive off the kitchen chair. She wasn’t sitting on the chair. She was standing, and you’ll have to talk to Brandon about that one. He was the one sitting right next to her. So…this is our end product… The picture just doesn’t show it in it’s full glory. The real kick in the pants? Tomorrow we have Pea’s 15 month doctor appt. Great. Read More →
I know I’ve been hoping for wishing wanting begging for snow…and this is what we’ve received today. Yes, I know I should be grateful…even though I won’t be happy until we have 8 feet of the white stuff. What I’m not crazy about? The Wind. Temperatures are a negative one degree. That’s not too bad…I don’t mind the cold. However, it is -26 degrees windchill. Yowza! From a day like yesterday where you could head outside in a sweater and be comfortable to a day like today. I call it, the yo-yo. I really don’t want to go anywhere today, but errands call. I’m off to brave it. Have no worries…I’ll be back,... [more]

I’m finally able to take a shower in my house! This is a cause to celebrate! Brand started working on the downstairs bathroom in August of 1999. Now, it’s finished…almost. The only thing left is to put up the trim, but it WILL get done. Now, I need to find the perfect towels and rugs. I’m looking for a red. Not red-red, not burgundy. Cranberry? I don’t know. I’m sure that when I find it I’ll know. I’ll post pictures when I find it. The other thing I’m looking for is an Eiffel Tower wine rack. Maybe. My idea is to roll up red towels to put in the wine slots. I don’t know. Apparently, it’s going to take me a while to make... [more]
This little love is a climber. Oh yes. Last night, I was washing dishes…and her high chair tray. I turn around to find her standing on the seat of her highchair. No cares in the world. Never mind the fact that I nearly had a heart attack. Seriously. Pea started this climbing, perching, standing on things a while back. Most of the time it wouldn’t bother me, but we have hard wood floors. So if she takes a spill…it’s gonna hurt. Last week we were in the front room helping John with his homework. Pea is quite and he looks up to see her standing on this… …and it was on the wood floor (Look Ma! No hands!). One wrong move and it would not have been pretty. Our... [more]
