The Blankies is a cartoon band with educational songs for children in preschool and early elementary school. They consist of 4 characters, Cora (has the heart on her shirt), Fiora (has the flower on her shirt), Zip (has the low voice and sunglasses) and Zodi (spikey hair and star on shirt). There are 3 albums available Action, Learn and Peace.
The ACTION album promotes physical activity. With tunes like “Robot,” “Head, Nose, Belly Button, Toes,” “Pick It Up,” “Jump, Walk, Spin,” and “Pretend You’re In the Game,” kids can sharpen their coordination and listening skills while exercising.
The LEARN album addresses the need for solid educational content. What’s different here is the use of fill-in-the-blank style lyrics that help build listening and recall skills by giving listeners a chance to figure out answers on their own. Songs about days, months, seasons, senses, insects and rhymes use this technique.
The PEACE album offers slower tempo songs that encourage calm and relaxation. Lyrics to songs like “Courtesy,” “You Can Do It,” “Be Nice,” “Best Friends” and “Thank You” promote kindness, positive self-esteem, friendship and global citizenship.
Chris Bihuniak is the Executive Producer of the Blankies (or as I like to say the Genius behind The Blankies). He is the primary songwriter and art director. He’s the one who came up with naming the band and designing their logo. He’s also the producer and musician for Rock Daddy Rock. You can find all of the wonderful music Chris creates at 4 Boys, Inc.
We have the Peace CD and love it! I love the jazzy feel to the music. It’s really….classy. I find myself singing the Courtesy and Be Nice throughout the day….and it doesn’t bother me one bit! You can teach and learn through music. It’s a powerful medium. I like that my kids listen to The Blankies. With one listen of their music, you’ll be hooked! Remember the Smart-e-bear that I reviewed? Well the Blankies can be heard on it! Wonderful!

you can do it if you try!
I love these lyrics
Smile, smile, smile
We want to see a happy child
Smile, smile, smile
Show me one with style
Are you sad?
Are you mad?
Were you bad?
That’s no fun!
Can you show me one? One big smile.
Smile, smile, smile
Let’s see a happy child
Smile, smile, smile
Stretch your mouth out wider than a mile
Are you sad?
Are you mad?
Were you bad?
That’s no fun!
Can you show me one? One big smile.
Smile, smile, smile
Thank you so much!
