Going Green with Joey Totes! – Giveaway!

**This giveaway is now closed! Congrats to Dana!** I’m a stickler for using reusable bags when out shopping. After coming across the Joey Totes and giving them a shot, I’m glad I did! Most of my reusable totes are canvas material bags from JC Pennys. I have a few from Staples. They are a great size, but don’t compact. Each Joey Tote collapses into an oversized pouch that is sewn into the inside seam of each bag. Even better, each pouch is designed to carry more than one bag. I have the Joey Set, it’s 1 big bag and 2 small bags. I’m able to put the two smaller bags into the big pouch. It’s so handy! Joey Totes are made from a material commonly used in outdoor... [more]

Keep Those Pictures Safe

Like any mom, I have a lot of pictures of my children. All on my computer. Truth be told, it’s always made me a little nervous to just have them there. Gulp! The ‘what ifs’ just lingering there. Essentially, all of Pea’s pictures are on my computer. From birth to the 20 months she is now. I have no prints of her. These days I have peace of mind because I have a Picture Keeper. Please note, I try to be tech savvy, and I think I put on a pretty good show. But it’s a farce. I don’t like to download programs or add new things to my computer. My luck, I’ll break something. With the Picture Keeper, there is no program software. Nothing to download. It’s... [more]

Frecklebox Review – Books That Touch the Heart

I was so excited to be a part of the Frecklebox review! I’m always one who loves personalized items. It brings that smile to my face and tear to my eye. Upon opening the box there was the book “My Name is…” for Pea and a puzzle with MY name in the clouds! It honestly took my breath away! This book is just the sweetest! We are pretty green around this household and to have a story that Mother Nature tells using Pea’s name was pretty special. From the dedication which reads My name is Paige For a very special girl Love, Mommy Not only does Frecklebox have books (which can be hard bound or soft!) and puzzles, but they also have placemats, growth charts... [more]

DriOff Gel Review

Summer is right around the corner. Here in Nebraska, it get HOT! In order to cool down, we sweat. It gross, but can’t be helped. I was able to try out the DriOff gel roll on. It’s not scented, a plus in my book. Sometimes the scents are a bit off and give me a headache. I’ve used it on my hands and there isn’t a residue from the roll on. You don’t notice it at all! The DriOff gel can be used on the hands, feet, underarms and skin folds. DriOff gel can be purchased online at Hill Dermaceuticals Inc for $15.75.  Read More →

Hoohobbers Review and Giveaway

**This giveaway is now closed! Congrats to Momma J!!** Hoohobbers is such a unique site! They have so much to offer! Hoohobbers products are made in Chicago, IL. Where they have been designing and manufacturing products since 1981. They not only offer personalization of products, but will custom make them to fit your needs. On the Hoohobbers website, they refer to their items as hard goods -this is what we call our ‘furniture’ items. We use this term to avoid using the word “furniture”, a word which connotes heavy, stationary items. Our ‘hard goods’ are totally different than this. They fold, are lightweight and portable; made to be carried by children themselves... [more]

Eleven Collection Review and Giveaway

**This giveaway is now closed! Congrats to The Halton Mom!** Shoes for little travelers. The Eleven Collection nailed that one on the head! We received the above pictured Kasota for review. This shoe is simply adorable! Pictures just don’t do it any justice. From the sweet pink and soft gray and off white, it’s playful and sporty! Perfect for my little lady who’s quite the outdoors-y type. The great thing about Eleven Collection shoes is that they have a durable, yet flexible rubber sole. They are shoes that keep going and going! Some background behind the Eleven Collection… In 2005, Nancy Coronado (of Picaflor Kids) and Cause Haun (of See Kai Run) met and began a friendship... [more]

Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer Review

I love how technology progresses! When Johnny was a baby 9 years ago I had one of those digital thermometers. The kind that you had to put under the tongue or in an armpit until it beeped. And that felt like forever, because whenever you have to take the temperature of a baby they aren’t feeling well. Sure they had the ear thermometers, but they were close to $100 bucks and we sure didn’t have the extra money at that time! We’ve come a long way baby! The Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer is a mama’s dream! It’s so easy to use, simply place on the forehead and gently across to the hairline. But how does that happen, right? As you gently stroke the... [more]

Aloha Friday!

It’s time for Aloha Friday! Just in time too…it’s been one heck of a week! Here’s the scoop from Kalani over at An Island Life… In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. Question of the week, drum roll please… Do you print off pictures from your digital camera? I have a great big tote of pictures…all of Johnny. Pea, she’s stored on the computer or the numerous memory cards. Does that make me a bag mother?  Read More →
