Pea, like her brother loves to be outside. See that swing set in the background? It’s falling apart. It wobbles like no other, and the wood is cracking in multiple areas.
I don’t think it’s all that safe. Which really bums me out, because it’s not that old! 7 years. Sure, it’s had a lot of use from Johnny. I don’t see it lasting the rest of the summer for Pea though. She won’t be climbing or monkeying around like Johnny did. We thought we were making a smart purchase, because that swing set…it wasn’t cheap. Not by any means.
We *thought* we knew what we were buying…but we didn’t. We wanted something natural, but something that would last. Heck, Brand’s folks still have one of those metal swing sets over at their house that he and his sisters played on. It has to be over 20 years old!
Over at Dad Blogs, they are having a daddy of them all Big Spring Contest. The grand prize, the Three Ring Adventure play set from Kid’s Creations and (yeah, there an and!) a Canon PowerShot SD1100 Digital Elph.
Pretty incredible, eh? There will be one lucky family to win the prize package. Wouldn’t it be a great way to kick off the summer?
