Have you seen the Solo Squared Cup? It’s pretty smart if you ask me. Here at the Seery household…no matter how green we are, my husband will always use Solo cups. I don’t complain too much, because that is one less dish I have to wash. Solo Cup Company is celebrating decades of great entertaining and the new Squared party cup, with an online photo contest with a grand prize of $5,000 for the best photo featuring a Solo Squared cup. Enter your favorite photos at www.SoloCups4ever.com until August 14. Winners will be announced on August 21, 2009. In addition to the grand prize, two $1,000 runner-up prizes will be awarded at the end of the contest. You’ll also have... [more]
No matter where we went on our vacation, Crocs went with us. Paige loves her Crocs. They are the ONLY shoe that she wants to wear. (And I’m not kidding, I’ve learned to buy outfits around the Crocs!) From the St. Louis Arch, to Fort Boonsborough. The Gabby shoes from Crocs were Pea’s shoe of choice. Crocs sent out the Gabby shoe just in time for our vacation, and I couldn’t have been happier! Cotton Candy in color, they go with everything. As with any Croc shoe, they are easy to clean. Let’s face it, toddlers are not into keeping clean, with a simple wipe of a damp cloth, Paige’s shoes look new over and over again. The Dora Cayman is another shoe from... [more]
Last year, Paige had her first haircut on the 29th of July. I thought she had a head of hair then…and when I look at what it is now…wow! It’s flipped pretty good in the back today, it does that naturally. Imagine when I flat iron it, add an inch to an inch and a half. How I love her long, beautiful hair! Isn’t it amazing what a year does? Aside from having her bangs cut once in November of last year, that’s it. Now, those bangs are down past her chin and I doubt scissors will be touching her hair for at least another year…but we’ll see! Read More →

We recently had the opportunity to try out the Chocolate Party Cake Play Food Set by Voila from GummyLump. Paige has had so much fun with it! It’s a delicious wooden chocolate cake that is topped with a dab of cream and cherries. It can be cut into 8 pieces using the wooden knife and spatula that comes along with the set. Eight candles in four colors complete the cake as well as several messages to display. Happy Birthday Happy New Year Merry Christmas Congratulations Four The doily underneath the cake is marked in basic fractions. You can’t master those fractions early enough! One of the things that I like about the Chocolate Party Cake set is the velcro dots on each piece.... [more]

Adena (Mom-preneur Extraordinaire) contacted me recently to ask if I would be interested in trying out several products in her line of Nature’s Baby Organics. Always up to the challenge, I agreed. I did some research, and Adena’s story touched my heart. She’s really worked hard to bring about a quality line of products. Organic and natural products for the entire family. I’m so happy I did! I’m going to start with the Shampoo and Body Wash in Lavender Chamomile scent. It was my full intention to just use this as a body wash for Paige. As many of you know, she has long hair, and it’s rather unruly if I don’t keep to our hair washing “regimen”.... [more]
When the Kellog’s Cinnabon Blog Tour made it to my inbox from Mom Central, there was NO WAY I was going to pass it up. We enjoy our Sunday morning Cinnabon cinnamon rolls, so I was excited to see how the family would like the new Kellogg’s Cinnabon Snack Bars. The afternoon I received the package with the box of snack bars I opened them up and set them on the table, of course my little shadow comes across them and asks “What’s this?”. It was the perfect time for an afternoon snack, so I opened one up and gave it to Paige. She. Loved. It. I’m not kidding! She would take a bit and say “Yummmmm!” over and over again. They have a great cinnamon... [more]

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, well, okay maybe just a little bit. Every time I have the afternoon off and want to take the kids to the pool, it’s in the 70’s. Beautiful weather, just not the scorching that I’m needing, the ol‘ kick in the pants to get me to the pool. When I jump in the pool, I want that T”his feels good!” thought, not that “Holy %*#%&!” thought. Does that make any sense? My Catch 22, I hate the heat. We need just a happy medium, hot when I want to go to the pool, cool and rainy all other times. Can we work something out, Mr. Weatherman? In other news, I’m thinking of a blog makeover. Should I... My kids have had a lot of fun playing with the Smooshies that the One2One Network sent out for them. So, what exactly is a Smooshies, right? Smooshies is a creative plush toy. Start with a simple trapezoid base, add hands and feet, eyes, mouth eyebrows, hair, etc. However you want! The green area on the front is velcro, so the accessories are easy to apply. There are tabs on the top, bottom and sides to give the Smooshies his extras like arms, legs and hair or antennae. I like Smooshies because they promote creative thinking and they can be anything you want them to be. Soft and cuddly with bright colors are an eye catcher for kids. It’s also affordable. Sold exclusively at Joann.com... [more]
Johnny had seen the PlasmaCar out and about one day and thought he needed one. Me, thinking he was too big for one, didn’t really give it another thought. Fast forward a couple of months. I was lucky enough to connect with the kind folks from PlaSmart. They were kind enough to send out the red PlasmaCar for my children to try out and enjoy. It looks cool, right? But what is it? PlasmaCar is made from state-of-the-art, high-quality ABS plastics, rugged and durable. Kids will like its looks because it´s vivid, sleek and aerodynamic, just like a racecar. No batteries, no power-cells, no liquid fuel are required. It´s so easy to operate; all it needs is a driver and a smooth, flat surface.... [more]
One of our adventures in Kentucky took us to the Lexington Explorium. If you live anywhere near the Lexington, Kentucky area…it’s worth the visit! We took the kids on a whim, it was one of those days when we didn’t have much planned and the hopes of visiting the Mary Todd Lincoln house were squashed. So…why not? I am so glad we went! The kids (yes, both of them!) had so much fun, and so did we! It was fun playing (learning), watching them explore. There was a great area for kids 3 and under with a water feature that captured Paige. (You’ll see more on that and Crocs later!) There was a bubble room, Hold Your Horses exhibit, Homes from around the World…and... [more]
Did you know that Americans’ kitchens actually harbored more germs in 2009 than in 2008. Despite the threat of H1N1 and other illnesses, Americans kitchen hygiene habits have gone downhill. This from the Hygiene Council and their new international study released this week. Key findings include: •The UK, Germany and Saudi Arabia all had cleaner kitchen sink faucets than the U.S. •Kitchen surfaces (faucets and sponges) harbor more germs than bathroom surfaces – faucets and sponges are dramatically worse than the toilet flush handle and bathroom door handle. The U.S. fared very well globally in other parts of the home, but our kitchens are hotbeds for germs. •Despite American home... [more]
