Internet security. It’s kinda a big deal. Especially with kids.
My son is 9, having a computer is no big deal to him, we’ve had since he was a baby. Now that he’s older, he’s finding more and more places he wants to visit on the internet. Most of them, no problem. However, one night he heard about a site where you could play games from a TV show that he and his dad had watched. Which was fine, I don’t have a problem with it. When I went to the site he was talking about, I just about had a kitty! He had no idea that site would have that information, but to think of what he would have been able to see if he would have just hopped on the computer. It was a wake up call!
I’m thankful that Johnny doesn’t just get on the computer, he asks first. Still he’s getting to that age and I want all of the protection I can get, because if we have it now, he’ll be used to it by the time he’s a teen.
We were given the opportunity to try out the McAfee Family Protection plan. While we are still learning and exploring with it, I’m happy with the results. As the system administrator, I’m able to set the limits on my my son will see. I can block any or all Instant Messaging, create time limits, get usage reports and Family Protection will track information sent from my computer, such as, phone number, address, and school name on social networking sites like Facebook, My Space and Xanga. It’s pretty impressive! I didn’t realize how in depth it goes for being so easy to use.

hi,
for me the problem with the kids was solved thanks to bitdefender internet security 2009. it has a very good parental control option from where i can control everything that is related with the access to the internet of my kids. after i've set all the options i was interested in now i'm not making any problems and i feel that my kids are safe from the negative content that is all over the internet.
Except that bitdefender does not protect your kids – it is very easy to get around! Most filters are because kids know to use proxy sites to circumvent them. That is one difference with McAfee Family Protection – it actually blocks out proxy sites and there is no way around the software.
