Back to School with Office Max!

Last week I was able to participate in the webcast with Office Max and Peter Walsh. Yeah, Peter Walsh from TLC’s Clean Sweep! How cool, right and just in time for Back to School!

Not only did I gain a lot from taking part in the webcast, but Office Max was kind enough to send out a box full of goodies. All new stuff from their Schoolio-Von-Hoolio line. Talk about ADORABLE!
From folders, notebooks and binders. Even the sweet little clipboard with the owl on it. I’m diggin‘ the bright colors and fun designs. Honestly, can you go wrong with cupcakes, funky birds and chic owls? Ummm, no! Make me wish I was in school again!

I realized that I need to be the example for organization and order in the house. Not only to I need to lead by example, but I need to make organization a family value. My first goal is to clean the hot mess known as my desk. In order to do that I’m going to find the vision I have for my desk area. No more clutter and no more paper stacked everywhere.

In my quest to organize myself, I hope that will rub off on my son. By getting myself organized, Johnny will see how important it is. We will have routines and always, always “finish the cycle”. Scheduling is a going to be a big help. One of the biggest daily routines will be to empty the backpack. Last year I was pretty lax about that. Usually at the end of each week I would go through it, but now I know that doesn’t work for my child. He’s a hoarder. Pencils, stickers, candy awarded during the week will just sit there! Starting this year, when the homework folder comes out, so does everything else. We’re starting fresh each and every day.

We are ready to kick this school year off on the right foot!
