Not Always a Bowl of Cherries

I’m back. I had an excellent trip to New York City. The Euro-Pro event was great and I have so much to share with you. However, this trip made me realize, I’m not a flyer. That is putting it mildly. Granted, it was only my second time flying, but I can honestly, boldly and loudly say, I do not EVER want to fly again. Thank you very much, I’ll keep my feetsies on the ground. I have horrible motion sickness, which carried on over to Friday as well. Friday night, I was back with my family and life was good. We went for dinner at a local family restaurant. It’s one of our favorite places. While we were eating our dinner another family sits at the table next to our... [more]

The Gratitude Challenge

When I received the email from Tiny Prints about The Gratitude Challenge, I didn’t really get to it until this morning. So, for the next 21 days, I’ll be looking for the brighter things in life. Just by spending a few moments of each day counting my blessings, I hope to maybe change a little bit of myself. Maybe I’ll see things in a different light. Hopefully, it will have an impact on my children. Lead by example, right? THE GRATITUDE PLEDGE With a hopeful outlook, I, Sky Seery , promise to fulfill the terms of The Gratitude Challenge. Over the next 21 days, I pledge to complete the activities on my gratitude calendar, including writing journal entries, taking photos and... [more]

Let’s All Join In!

I was lucky enough to be included in the Kenny Loggins “All Join In” blog campaign from the One2One Network. To give you a little background, my love for Kenny Loggins started when I was a little girl. According to my mom, House at Pooh Corner was my favorite song (this was before my Michael Jackson phase at 5!). I would listen to it over and over and over again on a record player. I don’t remember any of it, but to this day when I hear House at Pooh Corner, I feel a compete calm. It’s like I know I’m home. It sounds weird, but it’s true. I had the same feeling come over me while listening to the newest work from Kenny Loggins, All Join In. I love this... [more]

Eating Right Kids

In this day and age…it’s hard to find the perfect balance between good food and food that’s good for you. There are so many options out there. With a lot of pull toward products that I’d rather pass over. Safeway and Warner Bros. Looney Tunes have teamed up to create Eating Right Kids. It’s meals, snacks, cereals and drinks your kids will love – and you’ll feel good about. Featuring the beloved Looney Tunes characters, this food and beverage line provides healthy solutions to the other junk that’s out there. Did you know that some of that other junk includes branded Looney Tunes food as well? Warner Bros. Consumer Products has taken the initiative... [more]

Keep Warm and FeelGood

One of the things I love most about blogging is the opportunity to help raise awareness. I used to knit. I still do, but can’t seem to finish anything. I think I many have found the perfect reason to sit down and concentrate a little bit harder. Lands’ End and Vickie Howell (Knitty Gritty!! I love her! Squeee!!) have teamed up for the Lands’ End FeelGood Campaign. For every FeelGood Sweater you buy, Lands’ End will donate their FeelGood Yarn to One Heart Foundation’s Warming Families, a nationwide charity that knits clothing for the homeless. Want to help even more? Start knitting! Check out the how-to video below… There are lots of ways to help. ... [more]

Text for a GREAT Cause!

It’s been just under a month since I participated in the Relay for Life walk here in my hometown. That night was just incredible, to see survivors, walk in memory and in honor of all of those who have lost their life or had their lives effected by cancer. It was a night of emotion and feelings of honor. I’m so proud that I am able to do something to help a great cause. I can not wait to do it again next year! I’m excited to bring you Kelly’s Text-A-Thon for a Cause! With September marking the start of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, Electrolux and Kelly Ripa will once again lend their support to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF) to help find a cure. emagineGreen – Review and Giveaway

I’ve had the pleasure of working with the folks over at emagineGreen...and I’m hooked! emagineGreen is a different kind of company, and I love their mantra. At emagineGreen, we have a philosophy we frequently repeat to ourselves, to each other and to anyone who will listen. It summarizes the mission of our company in three simple words: We believe that when we raise awareness about what is happening in the environment and what we can do about it, people will be inspired to take action. The result will be a significant group of people coming together to make a positive impact for a healthier planet. The folks over at emagineGreen sent out 3 items for me to try out. All... [more]

My Little Neck of the Woods

I’ve just encountered the most boring weekend ever. With my husband and son out of town, it was Paige and I. Sure, a girls weekend…sounds like fun, right? Well, about that. Highly overrated. Especially Labor Day weekend in this one horse town. There’s nothing to do around here. I know I’m complaining, and I’ve racked my brain. We went to the mall, that took all of 15 minutes (yes we walked through the entire thing). I feel like I’ve cleaned the house all day long, yet it doesn’t show one bit. Laundry baskets are empty, but once my boys come home tomorrow, they’ll be full again. I miss the noise, the constant in and out of people. Tuesday,... [more]

Lysol Disinfecting Wipes and Spray

**This giveaway is now closed. Congrats to Angie Marion!** This past week I’ve been sick…and it’s been rough. It never fails, the beginning of the school year always brings in a cold to our house. Usually it starts off with Johnny and I always end up with the worst of it. Since feeling that tickle in my throat, I have been taking preventative measures to make sure I’m not spreading my nasty germs. That’s where Lysol Disinfecting Spray and Wipes have come in. I’ve sprayed door knobs, toys, my office area and sinks. Not to mention wiped down phones, light switches, the bathrooms. I think it’s made a difference too! This year, the Lysol brand... [more]
