Infant Nutrition Center

Launched just this morning was a new website, InfantNutritionCenter.com.  It’s a resource that every mom should take advantage of.  Providing the proper nutrition is key to a happy, healthy child. The question is…HOW?logo

This website will not only explain, better yet it takes you on a visual journey. Find out through video, pictures, graphics the latest research findings about how proper nutrition shapes the development and how individual nutrients affect eh senses, bone formation and the immune system of infants. What does DHA have to do with eyesight? What nutrients are needed by your infant?

Johnathan was a normal sized baby, weighing in at 8lbs 8oz. Paige was 5lbs 2oz. That’s quite a difference and maybe because I was older, Paige being smaller, I focus more on nutrition.  She’s a healthy 2 year old weighing in at 23lbs.  She may always be petite.

You’ll want to view the webcast, which you can find here.  There is so much information…and it really is fascinating!  The different sections include:

  • Fueling Growth and Development
  • Milk Enters the Stomach
  • Milk Enters the Small Intestine
  • Some Key Nutrients
  • Gut and Immune Development
  • Respiratory Health
  • Skeletal and Muscular Development
  • Skin and Hair Growth

It goes on…it’s informative.  For instance, did you know that an infant’s head circumference increases by 30% about 4 inches, in the first year of life.  I wonder if Paige’s head followed that?  She was one of those kids that floated between the 10-15% percentile for height and weight, yet her head was measuring around 80%.  Little baby, big head.  However, she’s growing beautifully, and now I can see the what, when and how.
