One of Johnny’s favorite shows is Mythbusters, so you can imagine his surprise when the Mythbusters Weird World of Water science activity kid arrived on our doorstep. This kit is a trial-and-error learning experience created by Elmer’s featuring those crazy guys, Adam and Jamie from the Discovery Channel show Mythbusters.

While he was supposed to wait so I could get some video, he didn’t. He just couldn’t wait….and I completely understand! This kit comes with a “toolbox” full of goodies:
- 15 yellow beads
- 3 pieces of balsa wood
- 2 soda bottles and caps
- 1 clear cylinder
- 1 clear straw
- 1 clear tube
- 1 fin holder
- 1 funnel
- 1 nose cone
- 1 pipette
- Glitter
- Red food coloring
- Yellow food coloring
- Stopper assembly
- Vortex connector
Let’s not forget the ever so important instruction booklet. It’s more than just instructions though. Test out the theories. Who knew that simply pantry items could launch a rocket? Johnny’s enthusiasm for this set, it speaks volumes. For him to go on and on about it…you know it’s made an impact!
Picture it, Johnny is at Grandma’s house, building a rocket. Paige and Grandma, not much help…but they were there for support. It’s a beautiful fall day and they venture outside to for the launch. It was a success! My mom said that because she didn’t know what to expect, she was shocked! Paige, she was laughing and pointing and Johnny was simply amazed because it worked.
Since that time, he’s also completed the Myth of the Deadly Vortex Challenge and the Myth of the Man Who Could Walk on Water. He’s had a lot of fun with it, and it’s been a learning experience too. There isn’t a day that goes by and Johnny is mixing up something else or talking about launching his rocket again! *Although, I’m not sure how well it will work in this snow we have!*
I’m thrilled because there are two more kits available for purchase. Mythbusters Powers of Air Pressure and Forces of Light. Johnny’s birthday is at the beginning of December, you can bet he’ll get one kit for his birthday and the other for Christmas! Find the kits online at WalMart, Toys R Us, or Target.
**Special thanks to Team Mom for providing us with a product to review. In turn, I share my thoughts and opinions with you, dear readers. Please keep in mind, what works for our family, may not work for yours. **

Oh cool! My son would love this! He received a smithsonian science set for Yule this year, and every night he wants to try out a different experiment. We are not familiar with this show, but i love the idea of creating and testing out theories. i’m going to add this to our list for next year!!
