We’ve Made the K’NEXion

temp_logoBottomWith the cooler months upon us here in Nebraska, I encourage the kids to play with “constructive” toys, rather than sitting around in front of the TV.

We were introduced to K’NEX about 4 years ago, and Johnny played with them all the time.  He has that knack to not only read the directions to create, but he’s good at creating his own masterpieces.  K’NEX inspires creativity, builds self-confidence and encourages interaction among children and parents.

Johnny received the 400 pc. Value Tub…and it was like Christmas all over again!  Included in the Tub is an instruction booklet with over 20 models to create.  Pictured is his own creation.

Geared for kids age 7+.  The 400 pc. Value Tub is a steal at $21.99.  You can purchase it and other K’NEX toys online or in store at  Toys R Us, Walmart and Target.

Who said that girls can’t have just as much fun with K’NEX?  Designed for children aged 2-5, K’NEX has created the Sesame Street Neighborhood Collection Building Sets.

Paige was so excited to see her friend Elmo and his Ice Cream Truck.  Chunky pieces for small hands, this 18 pc. set was fun to build!  Back to the self-confidence, Paige (Droola McDrooler) was so proud of her creation…she’s taken it everywhere.  Before we leave the house it’s placed in her backpack to share with anyone who will listen!  The fun doesn’t stop there.  The pieces are mix and match, so the possibilities of creations is unlimited!

There are other sets included in the Sesame Street Neighborhood Collection. These sets let children build and then play with their favorite Sesame Street friends, including Elmo, Cookie Monster and Ernie.

Get creative with K’Nex!

K’NEX is also holding a “Make a K’NEXion” video contest.  Enter now through December 7th and you may win $1,000 worth of K’NEX toys!  In addition, your video will be featured on their website.  How?  Make a video and include select K’NEX products. The possibilities are endless.  Construct your own story or showcase your child’s K’NEX building skills – use your imagination!  Find all of the information here.

**I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour provided by Team Mom . I received a the products mentioned in the post.  Please remember, what works for the Seery family, may not work for yours.**

My son use to be addicted the roller coaster Knex building set from when he was six. He would wake up in the middle of the night and build.

K’Nex are an awesome open-ended toy. When I worked in an after-school program we wrote to toy manufacturers asking for donations and K’Nex actually sent us a playset.

My son (7) loves anything he can build. He received a K’nex set for his last birthday. To me, the instructions seem really complicated…but he followed them easily and put the entire set together in about 2 hours. i was amazed! These sets are really fun, especially the ones that have the little motors, because the kids can build things and then turn them on and watch them move. My 3 year old daughter has a set of the kid K’nex, and loves it too. She needs a little help snapping some of the pieces, but it is fun to watch her create her very own critters etc and really use her imagination. We are big fans of K’nex.
