Cold & Flu Symptom Tracker and Triaminic Thin Strips

It’s winter.  We’ve had a pretty mild winter, health-wise and weather-wise.  However, I know that some areas aren’t that lucky.

I’ve been watching the Cold and Flu Tracker provided by Triaminic.  The Cold and Flu Tracker shows a low to moderate cold/flu activity in the eastern part of Nebraska.  They also have a listing of the top 5 cities with illness based on the SDI Fan.  You can find information about the Triaminic Thin Strips, a Cold and Cough Guide and print a coupon for $1.50 off Triaminic products.

Triaminic also provides the Thin Strips.  It’s the newest thing when it comes to that cold and cough medicine.  Each convenient strip is a pre-measured dose that dissolves on the tongue, so you get the assurance of accurate dosing, every time.  Triaminic Thin Strips is available in Walmart, Target and drug stores just about everywhere.

Me, I like the Sick Day Guidelines from the National Association of School Nurses.  Consider keeping your child home if he or she:

  • has a fever of 100.4° or higher
  • has been vomiting
  • Has symptoms that prevent him or her from participating in school activities.

Not only is it a good thing to stay out of the school, stay out of the library when you are sick too…mmm’kay?  I think I’ll speak for all the library ladies out there…we don’t want it!

I’m glad to see that my town (Portland, OR) is still only moderate. My little gal has asthma and when she gets a cold or the flu things are tough in our house! She just had to stay home from school yesterday day due to asthma complications from a cold. I’ll have to keep my eye on this tracker, thanks!
