I feel like I’m slacking. No. I know I’m slacking. This mom/student/wife/library lady/blogger gig is kickin’ my booty. Maybe I’m letting it.
It’s been a while since I’ve talked about algebra. There’s a reason for that.
I suck at math. Period.
I made it through one class, drove home in tears and haven’t been the same since. I don’t know who I was kidding. I thought I could handle Intermediate Algebra. It’s been at least 13 years since I last had an algebra class…and this, I couldn’t take.
So, I dropped it.
Disappointed in me? Yeah, me too.
I wanted nothing more than to suceed. Get that class behind me…move on to the fun stuff.
Let me be clear, I’m not quitting. I’m simply going to have to wait until Paige is in Kindergarten to take that class. Then I’ll be able to go every day….and I’m sure it will be at my pace. There’s no need to rush it, right?
That confession aside…I’m still continuing on with school. Currently filling out scholarship forms and meeting homework deadlines. And you know, cleaning bathrooms, keeping up on laundry and cooking for the family.
A woman’s work is never done.

well, I for one am not disappointed in you. I think your plate is full as it is. I think going back when you have a little more time for the class is a smart idea. Keep your chin up girl, you are doing great!
I feel you on Math. I took college algebra 101 – the only Math course I took – I cried many times just trying to get homework done. I pulled a C in that class and to me it was an A. The only C I’ve ever celebrated!
You’ll do it when it’s right for you. You’re not a traditional student & so you have to do things as they work for you. Don’t feel guilty for a second – let it make you feel strong that you are able to know when something is not right at the moment & that you are able to adjust and re-prioritize.
As for feeling blue, when I get there and I know I’ve had to much, I look at what I can afford to stop doing. My favorite question to ask myself in any situation is “what are my options”. I then figure out what I can stop doing and I stop. Sometimes it’s the housework, or a book I’m reading. Sometimes it gets major – I recently let a friend go that was just too much all the time – it was taxing. On occasion it has been a break from my blog. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
Good luck to feeling happy
Spring will be a big help

I know I have been there. You have to think,it would made you miserable for the entire class so its best drop it and be happy. When you don’t have so much on your plate, take it again. Everything will fall into place.
