Growing up, we always had 4-5 pot pies in the freezer for those times when mom didn’t feel like making anything or it was just one of those days. From what I can remember, my brothers and I didn’t complain! We loved those things!
Now that I’m a mom, I find myself relying on those same pot pies for my kids, er, well one of them. Johnny is my picky guy and Paige will eat anything! In fact, it’s gotten to the point that I’ve had to put the Banquet frozen dinner meals in the back of the freezer and hide them with other frozen products. Out of sight, out of mind for that girl. Because I can’t resist when she asks a if she can have a “Pot pie! Pot pie! Pot pie!”. It’s pretty darn cute! With my wonky hours, the Banquet Frozen Dinners really come in handy. Thursday’s I have to be to work at 1:30, so I have to leave the house at 12:50 in order to get Paige to my mom’s house and in to work on time. Our lunch time is cut short because my girl is a stickler for her 12:15 lunch. A quick and easy -yet tasty lunch is key that day.
It’s hard to believe that Banquet home-style frozen dinner meals have been around for over 50 years!
From the Banquet Frozen Dinners website:
The Banquet brand began in 1953 with the introduction of frozen meat pies. Banquet frozen dinners first hit store shelves in 1955. The ’70s brought several different fried chicken offerings. Most recently, Banquet launched Homestyle Bakes and Dessert Bakes, and the brand revolutionized convenient, family-style cooking with the introduction of Banquet Crock-Pot Classics in 2004.
Banquet wants to say “Thanks a Million” to their loyal customers by giving away more than 16,000 cash prizes totaling $1 million! Now through April look for Banquet frozen dinner meals with the “Thanks a Million” logo on the box. Each specially marked box contains a game piece worth anywhere from $10 to $100,000 or a Banquet coupon. I’d love to know if any of my readers happen to be winners!

I know what you mean my mom always kept their pot pies in the freezer & I loved the turkey or Chicken ones growing up in the winer they were so good warm & filling comfort foot. I have to say though I liked the aluminum pans vereses the paper microwave ones I think they made for a crispier crust, my mom would save those pans and make tiny fruit pies out of them, Banquet is deliouse.
