Pennies 4 Penny

Last September when I went to New York City, I met Rhea.  She’s such an incredible person!  Seriously.  Check out her blog, Mommy23Monkeys.com and you’ll see why.

Right now, Rhea needs our help.  Her cousin’s 11 month old daughter, Penelope has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma.  And insurance is only going to cover 60% of her treatments.

Right now, they are faced with a $4,000 bill for her first CT scan…but that’s not all…

Since then she’s had 2 MRI’s, a bone scan, two nuclear medicine scans, a bone marrow biopsy, two surgeries, 7 rounds of anesthesia, daily X-rays, 1 cycle of chemotherapy, countless meetings/reviews with Dr’s, and 12 days inpatient.  On top of that we were informed that once we’re released she needs daily GCS-F shots.  A 10 day treatment of these shots costs $1,500.  So, we’d need two 10 day cycles per month, since she’ll get chemo every three weeks and be inpatient 3-5 days after.  Of course, this medication is NOT covered by our insurance. ~www.pennies4penny.org

This family needs help.  Rhea has worked really hard to get Pennies forPenny.org together.  She’s also working on a fundraiser auction for next Friday, March 19 beginning at 6:00 AM PST.  The auction runs for the weekend and there are some fantastic items up for bid.  There is still time to donate though!  If you have something you’d like to donate for this auction, please email Rhea.  Or, email me and I’ll, pass it along to her.  Together…we can do this!
