SMART Love of Learning

“A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops”  ~Henry Brooks Adams

Johnny has had a lot of wonderful teachers so far in his school career.  The best by far are those who teach with technology.  Let’s face it, technology isn’t going away -the more students are exposed and taught with it, the further they will grow. I’ve come across a lot of wonderful teachers, but one of the very best in my mind is my friend Denise otherwise known as Mrs. D.  She taught 4th grade locally for years, then went on to teach gifted children.  Denise one of those teachers that puts her whole heart into what she does…and it shows.  She’s always enthusiastic and willing to try something new and she embraces technology.  Not because it’s the easy thing to do, but because it’s best for the kids.  Thanks Denise for teaching the future…you are making a difference!

When I first started working as a para in the school system, gone were the days of chalkboards, chalk and erasers.  Who remembers thinking it was fun to bang those erasers? Instead, teachers used whiteboards and markers.  Shortly after I left, the schools invested in Smart Boards.  Johnny loves learning when they use those Smart Boards…he’s excited and I honestly believe that what he has learned sticks with him.

SMART Technologies is the world’s largest provider of interactive whiteboards – a “touch screen” board that functions like a blackboard does, but with the technical capabilities of a computer screen.

If you are still wondering what exactly SMART Interactive White Boards can do, check out this wonderfully put together video, The Magical Classroom.  If it doesn’t inspire you…I honestly don’t know what will.

The SMART Love of Learning campaign is celebrating those teachers who have touched lives.  They want to know “Who do you think is the best teacher in the world?”.  Join them on Facebook and tell them and enter to win  a SMART board interactive white board for your child’s school or the school of your choice.

If you are interested in bringing SMART Boards into your child’s school, click on the Toolkit tab on their Facebook page.  There is a step by step guide that will get your school one step closer to bringing a new outlook on your child’s learning.

*I wrote this post while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of SMART Technologies.  Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.*

That sounds like a wonderful product. I’ve never heard of Smart boards before.

Thanks for stopping by the Healthy Moms. Have a wonderful weekend!

I have not heard of this product either. I can’t believe chalk boards are gone! Pretty soon, there will computers on the walls that you can just touch with your fingers and it does what you want. Thanks.
