Personal Microderm At Home *Closed*

This giveaway is now closed.  Congrats to Ellen!

I haven’t been very kind to my skin.  From staying out in the sun without protection to falling into bed without taking off my caked on makeup.  I noticed that once I hit my 30′s, everything started to change and not necessarily in a good way.  Those age spots are showing and wrinkles are working their way up to the surface.

When given the opportunity to try out the Personal Microderm, I couldn’t pass it up!

Just to put it out there, when I opened the box, I was slightly intimidated.  I mean, I’ve heard of microdermabrasion treatments at the dermatologists office, but to do my own microdermabrasion at home, it’s kind of a big deal.  Included in the system was 1 personal microderm, 3 exfoliating discs (2 green and 3 blue), 1 electric cord, 1 facial cap, 1 body cap, 1 reusable filter, instructional CD and pamphlet.  The instructional cd put my mind at ease, giving me detailed instructions and the confidence to really do it on my own.

I used the blue discs because I have sensitive skin.  I was provided with a sample of M2 Skin Refinish 12% to use in conjunction with the microdermabrasion tool.  This stuff is worth it’s weight in gold.  I’m definitely going to make room in my budget for it!  It was just suggested that by using the M2 Skin Refinish 12% or Boske Dermaceuticals Moelcular Repair I’d get the best results.  That’s important to me, because if I’m going to take the time to do something I want to do it right.  That means taking care of my skin, while I really like what the personal microderm system has done to my skin, I know I need to stay on top of it by using sunscreen, moisturizers and washing my face – even when I’m too tired!

It takes time, especially the first time.  I’m pretty impressed with how great my face feels, even if you don’t notice a huge difference.  It’s my understanding that it takes a few treatments to really notice any change and I’ve only done 2 treatments at this point.

The Personal Microderm System sells for $179.00.  When it’s considered an investment into your skin, that’s pretty darn inexpensive!  You can use the Personal Microderm on your hands, feet, elbows and even on surface scars.  The discs will last for a while and can be replaced for a$15.00, a reasonable price.
