This giveaway is now closed. There were so many entries…and I really wish I could give a car seat away to each and every one of you. However, I can’t. So, without further ado, the lucky winner is Christine S. (LiveLaughLoveCj)! *Winner has been notified*
Thanks to all who took the time to enter!
Most parents spend a lot of time researching car seats – for multiple reasons, but the number one reason being safety. Then comes comfort, design and style and fit. Below is the first forward-facing car seat we bought for Paige.
It’s worked well for us and while it’s supposed to be one of those seats that you can use until the child is 80lbs, I don’t know how in the world that would be possible. It’s so big and bulky that Paige is running out of leg room and can kick the headrest….not a good thing when you need to keep your eyes clear and focused and you know…on the road.
When contacted by Sunshine Kids to review their Radian XTSL car seat, I couldn’t have been more excited! The features alone on this car seat had me droolin’! Okay, not really – but I was pretty darn stoked!
Let’s start with the basics…. The Sunshine Kids Radian XTSL car seat is a convertible seat, meaning you can use it rear-facing (for children 5-45lbs) and forward-facing (for children 20-30lbs) in a 5-point harness. Basically, that means that you wouldn’t have to new car seats as your child grows because this seat grows with your child. I love that! For us, it was definitely one of those if we had only of known moments.
So, how does it fit?
I tried to get the same picture look…and I know you can’t see it, but the foot room – yes! Paige no longer kicks the back of the seat and that is a good thing, my friends. There is plenty of foot room!
The Radian XTSL seat features the SuperLATCH installation up to 80 lbs – so no seatbelt is required. (Since we sold Stella in July, I’ve been driving my ’97 Tahoe, which doesn’t have the capabilities for a LATCH system. That said, I can’t wait until I find a new vehicle!). I had no problems installing the car seat with the seatbelt, in fact, it was surprisingly simple because of the seats low profile. I was able to easily reach around without climbing in and using a few choice words…a winner in my book! I haven’t quite figured out the recline positions in the forward facing mode…but to be honest I haven’t spend a lot of time on it either. I’m sure it’s something simple.

While we don’t have three little ones still in car seats, I know plenty of families that do. The Radian XTSL allows for three seats across in a mid-sized car. It’s their own patented design. I just can’t get over how smart this seat is! With the variety in fabric choices you can pick three of the same or something different for each child. The Flora was perfect for our family. It’s a neutral brown floral mix that would be great for boys or girls. Also available are:
- Radian XTSL Car Seat – Bentley – tan & brown micro-fiber velour
- Radian XTSL Car Seat – Eclipse – grey polyester air mesh & black velour trim
- Radian XTSL Car Seat – Nitro – red polyester air mesh & black velour trim
- Radian XTSL Car Seat – Petal – pink floral micro-fiber velour & brown velour trim
- Radian XTSL Car Seat – Ventura – grey cotton jacquard & charcoal velour trim
- Radian XTSL Car Seat – Flora – tan/brown floral micro-fiber velour & brown trim
That’s not all, though. Traveling or should I say flying…it’s one of the reasons we have yet to fly with Paige. I didn’t want to mess with her car seat in the airport. No thank you! My tune has changed a bit and now I’m ready. The Radian XTSL not only folds up flat for storage, but travel as well. With several different carrying methods, this is the only car seat that I know of with the capabilities to be toted around like a backpack. We have plans of heading to Disneyland next summer with the kids – now I finally feel like we’re ready just because of the car seat.
I can’t say enough good things about this car seat, we absolutely love it and I know one lucky reader will too!

My fave feature is the Memory foam padding for superior comfort. I like my child to be comfortable on long car rides.
My fave fabric is Eclipse.
I also like the fact it folds flat and has a strap for travel.
