We’re Baking with Signature Brands *Closed*

This giveaway is now closed.  Congrats to Carrie Conley!  *Winner has been notified*

Earlier this month, I put my culinary skills to work creating two desserts using the new Signature Brands S’mores Dessert Icing and Oreo Ultimate Icing.  These squeezable pouches of frosting retail for $2.99 and can be found in Wal Mart stores across the US.  Typically, I like to make homemade frosting.  However, it’s messy, expensive and I can only really make butter cream flavor.  It was fun to change it up!

Armed with our recipe cards, we started out making the S’mores Whoopie Pie.  Made with a brownie mix, which happens to be a favorite of my kiddos, I put Paige, my Sous Chef, to work mixing.

Always one to make a recipe my own, I had my own twist, which ended up being quite messy but our Hershey’s Whoopie Pies were delicious none the less.  The Hershey’s Dessert Icing comes in two flavors, Traditional Chocolate and Chocolate Cinnamon.  By using the Cake Mate Plastic Decorating Tips – the frosting process was mess free and each kiddo could pipe the flavor of  frosting they desired and I didn’t have to worry about digging out my piping supplies and cleaning them up.

*Warning* These Whoopie Pies required a fork and they were oh, so good!

Next up were the Oreo Brownie Bites.  Think brownies with crushed Oreo’s, yeah baby!  I could not for the life of me find my mini muffin pan, so I used the regular sized muffin pan so our Oreo Brownie Bites were HUGE!  Our family of 4 would share one Oreo Brownie – we all know sharing is caring!

Once the Oreo Brownies were completely cooled I started piping the Oreo Ultimate Icing Original Creme and Chocolate Creme on respectively.

The piping was just as easy as before and each brownie could have as much or as little frosting as the person doing the frosting desired.

The Oreo Ultimate Icing is a delicious, creamy icing made with real Oreos – America’s favorite cookie.  We’re going to try out a few of the other recipes on the Signature Brands website as well!  I’m guessing they will be just as delicious!  My kids loved the Oreo icing, while I thought the S’mores frosting was out of this world.  To each their own, I say.
