Kellogg’s Family Rewards *Closed*

This giveaway is now over.  Congrats to Patti Hess: p********************.com.  Winner has been emailed.

If there is one thing I’m passionate about, it’s books. (This from a library lady, right?) It’s not simply getting books into the hands of children but being a good example. If my children see me read, they’re more inclined to pick up that book.

Kellogg’s and Scholastic have teamed up with Walmart to provide family with free books and balanced breakfasts…and they’ve included me in that, too!

With the purchase of specially marked Kellogg’s products at Walmart stores, parents can redeem a coupon for a free Scholastic book of their child’s choice. And since nine out of 10 kids are more likely to finish a book they choose themselves, letting your little ones pick the books they love can help build daily reading habits.

It’s super easy to redeem codes and earn free books! Simply create an account at Kellogg’s Family Rewards, answer a few questions (it’s painless!) and you’re on your way. Keep your eyes peeled for those specially marked Kellogg’s products at Walmart. Seriously, it couldn’t be any simpler!

Kellogg’s provided me with some tips for engaging children in reading at home…and I’ve picked a couple of my favorite to share with you!

  • · Let your kids have a say: Let kids choose which books they want to read. Nine out of 10 children say they are more likely to finish books they choose themselves, according to Scholastic’s 2010 Kids and Family Reading Report.
  • · Turn reading into a fun family experience: Add fun to reading by having an animated, read-out-loud session during an after-school break with snacks such as Nutri-Grain Cereal Bars or curling up with a great story before bedtime.

*WIN* One lucky Seeryus Mama reader will a Kellogg’s Scholastic Kit!

To enter, please tell me what your favorite Scholastic book was growing up.  Clifford the Big Red Dog?  The Magic School Bus?  Scooby Doo?  {This is a mandatory entry, if you do not complete this step, you will be ineligible to win!}

Extra entries available:

This giveaway will end on November 28th, 2012 at 11:59 PM CST and is open to readers in the US.  Read official rules here.

Thanks for entering and good luck!!

*Kellogg Company® has provided me with a Kellogg’s-Scholastic Kit to conduct a reader giveaway. However, my opinions about the product are entirely my own and I have not been paid to publish positive sentiments toward Kellogg Company or its products.*
