I’m a Juicy Insider!

I’ve been anxiously awaiting the day I could share with you…I’m a Tropicana Juicy Insider! I use orange juice a lot. From drinking, to baking and making special treats for the kids.  It’s always in our fridge.  Tropicana has a program where you can save money on the things you like to do.  Zoo admissions, golf, water parks.  There are even spa savings too!  One carton can save you $15 and three cartons can save you $45.  In these times, saving money is the way to go!  It’s easy enough to find activities with over 20,000 of them to choose from…there is 129 in Nebraska alone! If you are more into saving the planet, donate those points to Rescue the Rainforest. ... [more]

Thanks A Million from Banquet!

Growing up, we always had 4-5 pot pies in the freezer for those times when mom didn’t feel like making anything or it was just one of those days.  From what I can remember, my brothers and I didn’t complain!  We loved those things! Now that I’m a mom, I find myself relying on those same pot pies for my kids, er, well one of them.  Johnny is my picky guy and Paige will eat anything!  In fact, it’s gotten to the point that I’ve had to put the Banquet frozen dinner meals in the back of the freezer and hide them with other frozen products.  Out of sight, out of mind for that girl.  Because I can’t resist when she asks a if she can have a “Pot pie! ... [more]

Gearing Up For Gametime! *CLOSED*

I love football.  High school, college and pro.  I love it all!  Of course, I bleed red with my Nebraska Huskers, but we’re also fans of the New York Jets.  While I was disappointed that they didn’t make it to the Superbowl, I’m a fan of the New Orleans Saints…it’s all good! That said, the Superbowl is one of my favorite days of the year.  I make finger foods for the family to enjoy all night long.  Last year we had, spicy wings, spinach artichoke dip, bbq meatballs, 7 layer mexican dip and stuffed puffed pastry bites.  It was delicious…and fun!  I’d have to rate it as a perfect day.  I guess that is why I’m excited for the game on Sunday. ... [more]

Pepsi Refresh Project

Times are tough.  For everyone.  In the last our library has taken huge hits.  The book purchasing funds are have been cut, training opportunities are to be paid for by that person and I’m expecting this year to see even more cuts happening.  Last year, I was really worried about if I’d have a job…and now that we are in the new year, I have to tell you, I’m not looking forward to the budget planning.  I love my job, I want to keep my job.  It’s not just affecting our town, libraries all across the country are being forced to cut staff, hours, or even close. Pepsi is stepping up to the plate.  They’ve created the Pepsi Refresh Project, and they’ll... [more]

3-Day Lip Challenge

I know I have dry lips…it’s the time of year where everything is incredibly dry.  My hair stands on end, my lips peel and my hands are cracked.  I’m used to it…but that doesn’t mean I like it.  Recently, I took the Neosporin 3-Day Challenge provided by Mom Central. Neosporin introduces their Neosporin Lip Health Daily Hydration Therapy and Neosporin Overnight Renewal Therapy.  They went beyond the temporary relief for dry lips, Instead, the studied it.  What makes lips dry, what “essentials” must be restored to keep lips looking and feeling healthy.  They developed a uniquely formulated Lip Health day and night formulas to give you visibly healthier... [more]

Wash Them Grow with Suave Kids

Ironically enough, before I knew about this campaign, I had bought a bottle of Suave Kids No More Tangles for Paige…and our love affair with Suave started all over again.  Then, I heard about the Suave Kids “Wash Them Grow” program.  The package arrived last night and Paige couldn’t wait for bath time!  We received the Strawberry Body Wash, Berry Body Wash, Free and Gentle Body Wash and perhaps my favorite the Moisturizing Body Wash.  I like the Suave Kids because it’s perfect for both kids to use.  Suave Kids products are perfect for babies, on up to the independent child: Nurture Your Baby’s Firsts – While enjoying all your baby’s firsts,... [more]

‘Tis the Shipping Season!

I love my FedEx lady!  Actually, she’s a friend of mine, we play Bunko together once a month.  My FedEx Ground guy, I appreciate him too…although I never see him.  He just takes packages to my husbands office.  Which is okay, I mean we live in a smaller town, it’s just easier. Okay, so it use to irritate the crap out of me that HE didn’t bring the packages to the house…my husband is NOT my keeper, and it’s none of his beez-wax what I’m purchasing, reviewing, etc.  Now, it’s funny.  He’ll usually ask which one is Seeryus Mama…which is hilarious because there are only two people in Brand’s office and they are both male.  Ha! Did... [more]

ToyInfo.Org

Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to learn about ToyInfo.org and ToyAwards.org.  Both sites provide information about toys you have either purchased or are planning to purchase.  This time of year, that’s a helpful resource to have. ToyInfo.org is a site that gives you information regarding the right kind of toys for your family.  Find toy news, play guides and sign up to receive recall information.  They also have a discussion board, where you can ask questions, find answers or just talk with other parents.  On ToyInfo.org, you’ll find helpful videos on several topics.  There is a blog, but I don’t see any new updates since February 2009. ToyAwards.org features... [more]

I should include Superwife to that title as well.  You see, it’s not my kids that are picky about what kind of pasta we have, it’s my husband.  Oh yes.  He’s not one for whole-wheat pasta…or pasta that’s good for you. That’s right, I said pasta that’s good for you. Ronzoni has a new kind of pasta, called Smart Taste.  It’s the first white pasta that is enriched with fiber and calcium.  It’s also lower in calories and fat than traditional white pasta. Available in: Elbows Rotini Spaghetti Thin Spaghetti Penne Rigati As a mom, I’ve found it to be a struggle to get the kids (ahem, husband) to eat healthy.  I know other moms struggle... [more]

Ultimate Party Meatballs!

It’s my favorite time of year for cooking!  I’m always looking for quick and easy dishes, not only for my family, but for other events that come up.  We’ve all had the BBQ meatballs as an appetizer, right?  I don’t know about you, but mine are always lacking that extra…something. I was really excited about being able to try out the Ultimate Party Meatballs from Mom Central.  Never in a million years would I have mixed Ocean Spray Jellied Cranberry sauce and Heinz Chili sauce together.  I wouldn’t have guess that combo would be all that rockin’.  It was rockin’ by the way!  The week of Thanksgiving my work schedule was a bit wonky.  Having... [more]

The Season is Smelling Good! *Giveaway*

This giveaway is now closed.  Congrats to comment #64 Mommy Daisy!! I’ve had the chance to try out the new Glade Holiday Collection Scented Oil Candles.  We were sent the Babyberry Spice, a warm and inviting scent full of bayberries, a smidge of ginger and hint of cinnamon. This was my first experience using the Glade Scented Oil candles and tin.  The oil candle has a magnetic center, it stays put, no sliding around.  With the help of a warming plate, the Glade Scented Oil Candles quickly melt into a large pool of scented oil, releasing more fragrance into the air.  Once the oil is gone, the candle safely goes out!  Each candle will burn between 2-3 hours. Now that I’ve tried... [more]

We’ve Made the K’NEXion

With the cooler months upon us here in Nebraska, I encourage the kids to play with “constructive” toys, rather than sitting around in front of the TV. We were introduced to K’NEX about 4 years ago, and Johnny played with them all the time.  He has that knack to not only read the directions to create, but he’s good at creating his own masterpieces.  K’NEX inspires creativity, builds self-confidence and encourages interaction among children and parents. Johnny received the 400 pc. Value Tub…and it was like Christmas all over again!  Included in the Tub is an instruction booklet with over 20 models to create.  Pictured is his own creation. Geared for kids... [more]

Kelloggs With Fiber!

I know I’ve talked about it before, but Paige has “issues”.  I have to keep a watchful eye on her diet and get the biggest bang for our buck…so to say. It’s not surprising that 9 out of 10 kids lack enough fiber in their diets.  It’s just too easy to fall into the old quick and easy junk food diet. Well friends, I’m want to share with you a special treat.  Thanks to the Kellogg’s Company, kids (and adults) can get more fiber from two of their most popular cereals.  Apple Jacks and Froot Loops now have three grams of fiber per serving.  With ingredients such as whole-grain corn flour, whole-grain oat flour, oat fiber and soluble corn fiber…it’s... [more]

Ounce for ounce, Prunes have more potassium than bananas. Studies have shown potassium helps prevent hypertension and stroke. Busytown Mysteries – It’s A Favorite!

Richard Scarry’s Busytownwas a part of my childhood and I’m excited to be able to provide my children with Busytown Mysteries on CBS.  It’s hard to believe that Busytown has been around for 40 years!  Richard Scarry’s books have sold over 150 million copies and have been translated into 30 languages, it’s pretty impressive!  How I poured over the books, and until I heard from the One2One Network about this campaign, I’d realized how much I missed them!  I’ve become reaquainted with familiar friends, Huckle Cat, Sally and Lowly Worm to solve the everyday mysteries in this brand new TV series airing on Saturday mornings.   I was sent out a DVD... [more]

Lakeshore Christmas, A Must Read!

I had the absolute pleasure of receiving Lakeshore Christmas by Susan Wiggs.  Arriving just in time for snow, I sunk into my usual reading spot on the couch with a blanket, a big cuppa and this book.  What a treat! Book six of The Lakeshore Chronicles, it leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy, and wanting more.  Featuring Maureen (Moe) Davenport, she’s the head librarian who’s gladly putting on the Avalon holiday pageant and bravely facing the closure of the library at the New Year.  Her help comes in the form of a child star has-been/recovering alcoholic who has no Christmas spirit whatsoever. They make quite a pair with their different directing styles and face many obstacles along... [more]

You’ll Want a Slice of This

Recently, I was given the opportunity to listen to the newest album from Five for Fighting.  Slice is everything I hoped for and more.  The lead single Chances will have you hooked from the start.  Piano, then the very distinguishable vocals of singer/songwriter John Ondrasik.  I was taken with Superman, then again with 100 Years.  This album though, it speaks to me.  It touches you heart…and I don’t want to quit listening.  It’s that good. Released on October 13th (that’s tomorrow!), this CD will stir emotions.  With Slice, you’ll get a little bit of everything…with the piano bringing it all together.  I love it. Album Tracklisting: Slice Note... [more]

Obama Time Capsule – Review

My son Johnny was old enough to understand and follow the presidential campaigns last year.  It was interesting letting him decide who he’d like to see as President.  In our house, my husband and I sit on opposite party lines.  It’s good for the kids, right?  Johnny decided early on he was supporting Barack Obama.  In fact, he wrote his 3rd grade report on our President.  It made his mama proud! What better way to commemorate this historic event and giving Johnny an even bigger role by customizing The Obama Time Capsule just for him.  It was extremely easy to make.  Upload a few favorite photos, put in your name and it’s done!  Johnny not only co-authored the book,... [more]
